In KS3 students cover the activities of football, rugby, athletics, cricket, softball, rounders, badminton, short tennis, basketball, hockey, swimming, table tennis and fitness.
Students are taught the keys skills needed to improve upon thier sporting ability.
The GCSE course encourages students to investigate PE more fully, by looking at the areas of human performance, developments in sport today and through practical activities. 40% of the course is theory culminating in an exam and 60% is practical where candidates offer 4 sports for assessment.
Over the 2 year course the course covers the application of anatomical and psychological knowledge to physical performance, acquiring and teaching movement skills, contemporary issues in sport and historical sporting issues. Students are also assessed on 2 sports. 70% of the course is theory based and 30% practical based.
The PE department provides ample opportunity for students to be involved in practices and school teams they also provided trips throughout the year that broaden the students understanding of sport.
